Bajaj Launches New 2012 Discover 125ST

Bajaj's commuter series will get a fresh dose of life.

The Bajaj Discover, like the Pulsar 200 NS will feature all new styling and is expected to be a completely new model for the premium commuter segment that it is positioned in. While other details about when this motorcycle will be launched in India and the price at which it will be positioned at remains unknown at the moment. But we do know for a fact that the Discover is all set to get a big revamp, just like the Pulsar series. Like the Pulsar the Discover too has been a big success for Bajaj Auto. The Discover also has many technologies that Bajaj pioneered on its flagship Pulsar series, like the dual spark plug DTSi ignition and the low end torque improving Exhaustec system on the exhaust. So, expect the next gen Discover to also get a few goodies from the new range of next generation Pulsars.

It is been quite very similar to the pulsar bike but this bike had become outdated from passion now days as now Bajaj is trying to bring an very latest technology bike in the market now.

Autocarindia has caught a totally undisguised Bajaj Discover,look's like the launch is just around the corner,will be interesting to see how it fares in the commuter segment battle.

The portion above the rear Tyre looks very bad.It does not sync with rest of the bike.

Bajaj has launched all new discover 4G,which is nothing but the current discover with one gear less,four gear's on a 100cc is a very common spec's on all our commuter bikes by removing a gear bajaj has managed to reduce the price of the bike by a good 2K rs.
I guess now the five geared version would be phased out to make way for the next gen Discover pictured above.

Bajaj Auto has now officially announced the launch date of 14th May for its all new motorcycle. Mr. Rajiv Bajaj MD, Bajaj Auto and Mr. K Srinivas, Vice President two wheeler sales will showcase the all new motorcycle to the media in Delhi on 14th May.

K Srinivas earlier announced that the all new motorcycle will be showcased to media in the middle of May and it will hit showrooms from the month of June. The new all new motorcycle is expected to be the all new Discover which was spied last month. As per the spy photo, it is expected that this motorcycle will have monocoque suspension and other class leading features for the first time in commuter segment.

New Bajaj Bike and Pulsar 200NS Price?

It seems that the all new Pulsar and Discover will hit the showroom simultaneously. It also seems that the pricing of Pulsar 200NS will be announced at the launch of new Discover as media will definitely question about the availability of Pulsar 200NS in showroom and it’s ex-showroom price. So get ready for another exciting motorcycle from Bajaj Auto.

The 2012 Bajaj Discover ST125 gets a brand new headlamp, a new instrumentation console, a new 10 liter fuel tank, new alloy wheels and a monoshock rear suspension, as the main visual changes on the motorcycle. The side panels are all new and so is the grab rail. The 2012 Discover ST 125 also gets a brand new seat, a new mudguard, a new exhaust muffler and an exposed O-ring based drive chain. The Discover ST 125 comes with a 200 mm petal disc up front and a 130mm mechanical drum brake at the rear.
The bigger change comes in the engine department, where the Discover 125 gets an air cooled engine with a 4 valve head. This twin spark DTSi engine makes the Discover 125 the most technologically advanced motorcycle in its class although this isn’t the first 4 valve head on a 125cc bike in India. That crown belongs to the now defunct Kinetic-Hyosung GF125, which came with a 4 valve head, more than a decade ago. The 125cc engine on the Discover ST 125 now produces a peak power of 13 PS at 9,00 rpm, while peak torque is 11 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
These figures make the Discover St 125 the most powerful sports commuter motorcycle in India. The motorcycle is fed petrol by a constant velocity(CV) carburetor while the transmission is by means of a 5 speed manual gearbox. The motorcycle is available with both a kick as well as an electric start option. The 2012 Discover ST 125 has a wheelbase of 1,305 mm, ground clearance of 170 mm and weighs 124.5 Kilograms. The Discover ST 125 will be available for sale at Bajaj Auto showrooms across India by the end of June 2012.

Bajaj has yet again raised the bar in the commuter segment,and the timing is perfect just a day before the Honda's big commuter lands.

- DTSI with4Valve per cylinder
- Petal discs in the front

The bike looks good.Better than the present generation.The side profile resemble big brother yet to be launched Pulsar 200 NS.
Accoriding to ACI the bike expected price could be Rs 50,000/- (ex showroom).
