Our biggest investment on mods so far and was worth it [evil]

Search for a good set of wheels began about a month ago. Our requirements were 16 inch, 7-8J width, 108 PCD, not-so-bling-easily-outdate-able-designs, shouldn't cost a hell. Unfortunately, after searching length and breadth of City and state and inquiring many importers, nothing was found. Only thing available to our spec being Momo Revenge, which we didn't prefer, one factor being overpriced, second being every brand got their replica and lack of exclusivity. Other options being insane wide rims or 15 and 17 inch ones. 108 PCD was extremely rare.

After waiting (im)patiently for fake promises by different dealers, stumbled upon an advertisement in OLX by Global Tyres, Cochin. It was Lenso PDX, available in 2 colors, to our luck off for stock clearance. Called and confirmed and decided for gunmetal. Started off to Cochin (~220 km away), expecting a full of scratch and scar set of alloys.

Again, surprise, scratchless, fresh as new piece of rims. Used to be display piece. Confused with Gunmetal and matte black and fell for the latter.

Damage

Lenso PDX - ₹ 30,800.00 (Listed price was ₹ 28,000.00 in Olx, charged extra 10% for Bajaj Finance EMI, which was indeed a rip off) (Actual price was approximately ₹ 42,000.00).

Wheel Nuts - ₹ 1,200.00 (Asking price was ₹ 1,500.00)

Tyre Story:

This was another screw up. Option considered was 205/45R16 as the correct upsize calculated with the stock. After a bit of googling some pics and told by one of the tyre shop guy and common sense about the risk of damage to rim and harsh ride quality and the extra care needed while driving, compromised for 205/50R16. There was concern about wheel fouling. Found it okay and test fitted by the same dealer who said 50 profile will foul and tried to sell off the 45 profile ones.

Options considered:
1. Maxxis iPRO - Best in budget performance tyre - ₹ 6100.00 (Out of stock by the time we found the rims).
2. Nankang NS2 - Cheap and good, unidirectional - ₹ 5300.00 (available in both 50 and 45).
3. Nankang NS20 - Decent price and reviews, was skeptical about the normal looking thread pattern though unidirectional - ₹ 5600-6000.
4. Yokohama S-Drive - My boy, one sexy tyre - North of ₹ 8000.00 per tyre (Ruled out because of the cost, lack of funds).
5. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 - Premium offering, considered an option after shown by one of the tyre dealers in Cochin - ₹ 7500.00
6. Hankook Ventus ES01 - Premium budget tyre, discontinued model - Under ₹ 7000.00
7. Achilles ATR - El cheapo, but some positive reviews. Just checked with no plans even to consider it - ₹4750.00 (Advertised as buy 3 get 1 free (with price of 4))

205/50R16 inch tyres are rare and 205/45R16 are rarest.

Now the mix up. Initial plan was to buy tyre and alloys and fit and drive back. Global Tyres had NS2 45 profile. Seeing Hankook Ventus V12, got tempted. He got them from godown and ended up being ES01, only model available in our requirement. Michelin dealer had no billing as it was holiday. Took alloys and left after confirming Tire Club in Trivandrum of NS20/ipro.

Reached back and to our horror both of them out of stock with only NS2 45 profile available. and even sadder truth that Ipro wont be available anymore. After attempt of pushing of 45 upon, after some talks, he called up Trissur dealer and arranged a set of NS20 205/50R16. Left the car next morning with him for fitment.

Alignment, balancing, fitment, nitrogen, valves - Free [clap]

It's Unidirectional. Surprisingly silent and ironically comfortable than previous 205/60R14. Steering is light, less jerks inside and car pulls better than previous. Very much comparable with Michelin XM2.

Hi, does this remote work perfectly for your inbuilt system? Or a little programming is needed? I have same car and second key doesn't have the remote. Thinking of buying online if it works fine along with existing remote with first key.

Service Time:

Done at Harry Ford. 48k km done. Estimate was 20k (like always), recommending some bearings, front shock assembly, drive shaft bearings, inner ball joints, link rods and shock bushes.

Rear wheel bearing was making noise. Per SA, front drive shaft bearing also kaput. So that alone be done.

TAT was good. Got back in time as promised.

Routine service was free inclusive of parts, thanks to the Flexi Plan we opted last service.

Sunday Boredom Kill.

Air Filter box cleaning. Box doubles as engine top cover. Indeed a stupid idea.

Minus the filter box.

Bonus comes the spark plug check.

Factory fitted one (found in boot) was German, replacement was Indian.

The reason why SVC always reluctant to touch air filter even on request. 10+2 bolts in addition to pulling out 2 plumbings and taking out the entire box [frustration]

Cleaned and installed back. Surprisingly, there was a rat living [confused]

comfortably inside the filter box.

New horn clamps for symmetric install. 2 L clamps joined. Painted black. Now clamp not noticable from outside.

Highway run after service.

Mishap happened. Panic braked to avoid a pile when an Auto-moron decided to take U-turn without warning. The Splendor guy with racing slicks hit the rear RHS. His pillion mother somersaulted to other lane. Luckily not even scratches or bruises. Broke tail lamp and body kit. Deep scratch in rear bumper. Fixed body kit after reaching home. Gotta change tail lamp and repaint bumper and body kit.

Changed both sides, with ones from 1.6 S. New modified part for S that will fit all Fiestas (Per spare guy. S got a different part number).
