Initially I was planning to buy a used Maruti Suzuki SS80 and rebuild it. I couldn't get a better one in reasonable shape and condition. So i planned to rework the old 1992 model Maruti 800 we had.

Discussed this plan with my couple of my friends, an Uncle who owns a Maruti Service Center(G G Maruti Guides, Tvm Main Road, Kanjiramcode, Marthandam). Everyone felt positive in my idea and the plan was formulated.

It was actually White in Colour. Colour selection was a difficult job. Confusion was to Paint The Orange Colour of BMW or the Blue of Nissan GT-R.Selected the Blue of Nissan GT-R.

I am attaching some photos to display the process and the result

Re: My Maruti Suzuki 800 Rebuild

Hi, You should have retained original white color.Four to five coats of high quality white is far better than blue. Black bumpers, good alloys gives maruti 800 fantastic looks in white., more over it is cooler than blue inside the cabin and safer than blue color car in the night.

hi asir it looks dam good. you have put a lot of effort in to it. Happy miles in this new maruti. Interiors are very good and very simple ur seats are excelent nice choice of colour . In the flooring you could have used a darker colour because the beige might get dirty. congrats once again.

The output is very nice.. Looks very nice.

You could have got the dash painted in beige.
Any more modifications planned ? Did you re-build the engine too ?

Thank you "polotdicl". It took more than 3 months to finish the entire process. I selected beige to match with the Seat and the Door pads

We painted in beige first to match with the seats and the door pads. But it didn't work well. then planned to paint in grey. No the engine was not rebuild. It is ok.

Kudos to your work buddy! [clap] The legendry 800 is sparkling in its new avatar! I liked the interior color combination & floor carpeting. Black and beige has given a very neat look to your car. Alloys have really added to the appearance.

Welcome to TAI ! Happy motoring.
