Got Tata Sierra - Turbo!

Yeah i know , what is going on your mind ! ]

At last got a BIG one . yeah the big one that i could afford


A sierra turbo with 1.48L on odo .
bought them for 1.25 L

Higher than car wale price ?
But justified - full new brake system .
Booster , brake disc , calliper , pad , shoe etc everything is new.
hold on !

new clutch
and new suspensions too. the car swings.

It has safari rims and tyres .




Only issue was the radiator fan . it was making some noise and we drove all the 468 kms from mannakad to pondicherry.

opened up the thing and found the fan stem , bearing , water pump worn out and fan stem was almost totally in worst condition. Amazed it never broke down while driving . rock solid tata!!


filled him again in pondicherry.
guess what . it was 31.5L
approx 14.75 kmpl!!!


speed was 80 kmph max as the wheel need balancing and it wobbled.

and no ac since switching on the ac made temp rise.
the fan was the issue and is being rectified now.

the beast will roar again from tomorrow!

Let me be the first to congratulate for your beast. Sierra is one of the cars of past which still attract me.
I see that your car is having Safari rims, were they swapped by you or the previous owner? The paint condition is looking as good as new. You surely got an excellent deal. The car looks in excellent condition.

yep it had safari rims and tyres.

tyres are worn out and will be replaced very soon.


And Dhaya , this was the reason for the trip.
he phoned 2 times and i said i am driving. and after reaching home he did ask the reason , but i didnt mention!!!

Now i know why you were missing the past few days. You purchased this through dealership or from individual.

not through dealer.

saw / surfed / compared all ads in net.

hunted for cars in tn and also travelled some 500kms by bus in search of them!

finally satisfied!

Sierra has been best look Suv's.

Hi Anil,

Welcome to The Automotive India.

That is indeed a nice looking Sierra modded to look like a Pajero, but somehow i feel that the Sierra looks much better in its stock state. I especially love that side glass.

@Ilango- What modifications are coming up buddy?

Congrats Ilango,my likes for cars started when i dad bought s Sierra,i think it was among the first 5 cars to be delivered in Chennai.
I like the looks of the car,and it would be stable on highways,all the best!!!

I am afraid Anil, i dont think any of our active member has Sierra. I am sure the one with Ilango would become a head turner just like his Lancer.

I heard Sierra 4x4 was a limited production run, with most cars either exported or being sold within the Tata employees itself. So I am looking for a 4 x 4 owner who can explain about his machine

Sierra 4x4 was very much limited one. some videos of them are available in youtube!

sierra /jeeps/ safari are some kind of vehicle that are owned with passion!
