Hope you all must know about my confusion.

First it was a new car , then no....continue with the marina. then suddenly i sold it (a nice rate was offered).. again planned for new figo.

Shhh.
then this idea. A second hand again , modify it.

And after a search i got a lancer.

The 2nd car was decided the previous day.

Next day , 31st march , sold the marina , got the cash in hand.

Was sitting in home with no car![evil]

Searched for safari.
old model for 1.4 to 1.6 range.

Some cars were there , was about to see every one of them. Also planned to have a sierra

By noon lancer came into my mind

Hope i am lengthy about my story. so cut short.

searched- went to chennai(started at 3.30pm here)- saw the car(8 pm)-bargained a bit- drove back home.

came today morning at 2am

It a lancer slxi

its 1500 cc. And many people know about the specs. so i'll stop

Congrats on your possession buddy. As you said, here I am, congratulating you first.. [:)]

Mod it to the max and show us your skills.

Frankly, a Lancer is a better show-car than the Marina...

EDIT: I just saw very hideous looking chrome bits here and there on the car. Get rid of those chrome mirrors and door handles. And yea, nice number too..

Fantastic!!!!!!!! One of my favorite good ol' car. This is simply a great car one can get in used car bazaar. Atleast you can give a hint for how much $$$ you picked it? Do some exterior enhancements and it'll be definitely ready to rock. How old is it and what's the condition of engine and other mechanical parts etc? Please share more pictures including of interiors.

Thanks rsm.
thanks vibhor!

the last picture is washing it at service station

I checked the car at night with my friends 5800 flash light.

every where the chassis was perfect.

Just front left fender and rear right fender has work history , but looked minor.
the bumper is replaced one. slxi has fog lamp.
i have a fog lamp switch inside .

Morning i was eager to wake up.

Went to work shop , got into a ramp ,
checked the under body. Man it was so perfect. I was happy.

regular wear signs such as bushes were found underbody , but not a issue. will replace when they make.

The belts were worn out.
the alternator and ac compressor belts

changed both of them
a total of 700/- for the spare.

The ac bearing was making a grinding noise. further moves may make coils burn-ac clutch burn and make a big hole in pocket. so changed the bearing today itself.

the bearing cost 450/-

Ac labor was 150/-

The first two pictures are taken when leaving the ramp at the workshop

Yeah man , that was good of the lot.

i sold marina for 1.67

Got this one around this figure including the dealer commission. damn the 2%

the engine has run only 45000 in odo.

Initially i too was suspicious about it. engine parts were all original , but bearing noises were there. after the ac bearing change , its now silent.

and they claim serviced only at authorized station .

A sticker in it says it was serviced in feb. Oils were new .

But the studs are in bad condition.
there is thud thud sound only when driven in bad road with big holes, but no pulling. so a simple stud replace will make it finer.

Didn't the first owner had it? You must ask for the manual.

I am suppose the 3rd owner.
1st one was a induvidual (muslim- reflects the colour)

2nd one its a company registered one.

sunshine products or something like that.

3rd one is me.

Both the above person have maintained well. the interior is so perfect. so is the engine bay and underbody.

Only doubt is about the odo reading which reads just 45000 for 8 year - 7 month old car.

But looking on the condition i can believe that.

I was advised to check 0 to 60 -12 sec

I check it and it was near the same timing.

Getting a original rc book itself is a big thing in 2nd hand market for this much age car. luckily i got them .

congratulations buddy! time to change your avatar!

please do remove the pathetic chrome fittings, this is not a SUV! first thing is to add better alloys.

Congrats Illango. Looks like your Alloys are missing the centre cap. Try and get hold of these. Or else get some better alloys. Now buy a Mivec engine and plonk it in.
