Mahindra Scorpio VLX Mist Silver: 1,00,000 Kms & Counting

Hello All:
This is Mukesh from Bangalore.
My Scorpio Vlx was Purchased on 10/11/2008.
The delivery was done at the time of diwali.
It was an auspicious day of Tulsi pooja.
We took the delivery around 6 in evening.
The sales manager explained all those features, introduced us to the service department.
The next morning we went to Ganesh Temple, near my home in BASAVANAGUDI.
Its called DODDA GANESHA TEMPLE. All the new car owners in Bangalore bring their new car to this temple for performing pooja.

Yes buddy, Its the Top End Model.
When i had purchased there was only 2 variants in mHawk.
Vls and Vlx.
I opted for VLX, which is a top end version.

No Raj i have not made any change to the ICE setup In my Scorpio.
I have maintained as it comes with the stock.
As i dont want to mess with the original Warranty of my car.
As the steering contol buttons wont work.
I have fixed a carrier CLASSIQUE on my mHawk .
As inside it is always jampacked.
Cost of maintainance will follow soon.

Yes the carrier is a nice addition if your inside is always jampacked! It gives a nice look to the Scorpio! I feel it goes well with the Scorpio and Sumo well and looks a bit odd in some of the other cars!!

Nice pictures Mukesh. We are waiting for a detailed report of your Scorpio's ownership. So did you have to remove the roof rails to accommodate the roof carrier?

FIRST 1000 KMS REVIEW

Hi Raj,
This is my first review. Correct me if I am going wrong.
The first 1000 kms of my mileage , I was told not to cross 100kmph as engine takes time to set.
So I didn’t rev my cars engine a lot.
First day went to shell made full tank.

The first long trip . I went on my mHAwk was to my native(Mangalore).
Route Bangalore-Mysore-Madikeri-Mangalore Route. Road was superb. Distance (450 kms)

I Could not test my mhawk for top speed. I just kept in cruise for 100 kmph .
Mileage was bomb Approx 13.5. With new vehicle.
Then we had planned to visit all south indian temples from mangalore.

The pics Was on the way to madikeri Called NisargaDham.
Maintainance costs will follow soon.

No not at all. As you can see it has been fixed to the skiracks itself.
And not to the cars top. As it can be fixed on skirack itself.

Yes i will add when the car loses its original Warranty of 2 years.

We did all the south india trip.
From MANGALORE- UDUPI-KARKALA-SRINGERI-HORNADU-KALASA-KUDREMUKH-MURDESHWAR.

Yes there was a technical glitch with the new vehicle.

On day 1 after reaching mangalore.

ABS Light starts Blinking Along with the handbrake (!) symbol on ODO.

I could feel the normal braking As ABS was not working. Saw the car Manual .

Read that report to the nearest Authorised Dealer in the manual book.

Made a call to my dealer Bangalore (Sireesh Auto).
He told me That the nearest dealer was Karnataka Agencies.(mangalore)

Then he tried to fix it, Connected a laptop , Fault in MIL lamp was showing,He did something, went for a test drive.

The red light of ABS disappeared, And it appeared after 50 kms of my drive.
And we were half the distance to our next place,i called him again .

He said there will be no problem as normal braking would be there.

And we continued towards udupi.

When the vehicle was parked overnight.
The ABS light was disappearing and was normal,after a few kms it would glow.
I could feel the difference in braking.

Guess how many of us were there in mHawk -11 members on board.

The carrier was not fixed that time all the extra bags were on roof top. just Tied by rope.
We completed all our trip and finally headed back to Banglore.

After reaching Bangalore, First thing i did was made a call to Customer Care M&M.
Went to my dealer, There i think he had guessed that i was angry.
He first gave a gift compliment. And apologised for inconvinience caused.
Then at the same time. The regoinal sales manager(Bangalore) was there in the showroom.
I expressed him my feed back with the new vehicle, And its fault with ABS.
He was actually visiting the showroom to check the feed back of Service Dept.
He assured me that he will take it as a serious issue.
And there were 5 engineers working on my scorpio, With 2 Advisors presence.
Finally The ABS Fault has gone for ever.
When in inform 1st to customer care.
Then Solve with the help of dealer.


MAINTAINANCE REPORT 1ST FREE SERVICE:
The vehicle had clocked 4780 And was due for service,
Work done was Replacing all oils, Especially engine oil. Etc

That moto care was done to prevent the engine compartment from rusting, during rainy seasons.


3RD FREE SERVICE
13211 kms ODO

1. Some Clip for clutch 30 rs+ taxes
2.CONSUMABLES 300 rs+ taxes
Only topping of all oils.
Total 365/-

GRAND TOTAL- 3887 Rs for 14 Months of my Purchase.


Next service is due on 24 March 2010.
Currently km run on ODO is 16,448 kms.
Raj this was the reason for me trying to remain with stock.
And no major modifications.
What ever the problem arises, It goe on the dealer.
And he corrects it accepting those issues.
Even i had thought of fixing the Carry Boy as you had.
He cautioned me saying it will be fitted to chassis, And problem may arise in future. So i sticked onto bull bar. Which is fitted to Bumper.

Any more Details??????
