Honda Brings Mobilio To Take on Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Details From Pg.18)

Honda will launch its seven seater compact MPV in the line of Maruti Ertiga.The car is expected to launch towards the end of 2014.The car has been given code named as 2NH.The said car will be the next generation Honda Freed which is presently being sold in other Asian countries.The car's sliding door will be replaced by the conventional doors.2H will be get City’s current 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor and the diesel 1.4 or 1.6 that Honda is developing.

Surprised at the segment Honda is targeting. Ertiga almost looks like Jazz from the side. Can't understand why Honda would make a similar looking car just to add a third row of seats. Their focus should be on :

- developing the diesel engines faster and plonking them onto all their sedans and CRV
- introducing Automatic transmission variants on Jazz and Brio.


They are doing reasonably good sales only on Brio and City. Sales beyond the 10L segment has been dismal and this is unacceptable waste of brand power given the 'premium'ness associated with Honda

The pictures shown above are the current gen Feed. In 2014 Honda will get the next gen Feed/Ertiga Rival in India which I'm sure will look much different. From the pictures its clear that theres tremendous amount of space inside the vehicle. Yes Auto transmissions are required as an option too. And yes diesel engines too will come 1.4/1.6.

OMG. That looks horrible. Why Honda why? The design looks really unstable particularly from the rear. The front looks like Wagon R. Weird split seats look like tempo travellers; gearbox placement looks even more weird.

I like the gear placement for the AT. However a very minimalistic and simple dashboard layout which is unlike Honda.
