Thanks for the figures 350Z , as always. Very encouraging to see the Tiago , Nexon and Tigor doing decent numbers. In long term I think tata will emerge as the main competitor to Maruti suzuki. A little decrease in figo twins numbers? Are people waiting for the facelifts? I dont know what Ford as to do to sell these excellent products. Although its encouraging to see Ecosport numbers. Ignis's sales seems to have recovered after incessant adverts on the tv , although I dont understand who buys this car and for what?

Production

The industry produced a total 23,890,166 vehicles including Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers and Quadricycle in April-January 2018 as against 21,104,750 in April-January 2017, registering a growth of 13.20 percent over the same period last year.

Domestic Sales

The sale of Passenger Vehicles grew by 8.07 percent in April-January 2018 over the same period last year. Within the Passenger Vehicles, Passenger Cars, Utility Vehicle and Vans grew by 3.61 percent, 21.29 percent and 5.33 percent respectively in April-January 2018 over the same period last year.

The overall Commercial Vehicles segment grew by 17.88 percent in April-January 2018 as compared to the same period last year. Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) increased by 10.45 percent and Light Commercial Vehicles grew by 23.17 percent in April-January 2018 over the same period last year.

Three Wheelers sales grew by 14.46 percent in April-January 2018 over the same period last year. Within the Three Wheelers, Passenger Carrier & Goods Carrier sales registered a growth of 16.38 percent and 6.86 percent respectively in April-January 2018 over April-January 2017.

Two Wheelers sales registered a growth at 13.62 percent in April-January 2018 over April-January 2017. Within the Two Wheelers segment, Scooters and Motorcycles grew by 20.91 percent and 11.43 percent respectively, while Mopeds declined by (-) 4.64 percent in April-January 2018 over April-January 2017.

Exports

In April-January 2018, overall automobile exports increased by 14.80 percent. Two and Three Wheelers Segments registered a growth of 19.32 percent and 33.58 percent respectively, while Passenger Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles declined by (-) 1.87 percent and (-) 15.28 percent respectively in April-January 2018 over the same period last year.
