Coverage: New Hyundai Elantra 2016 Launched in India

Expected to launch later in the year.
Following the unveil of the Hyundai Tucson at the Auto Expo 2016, Hyundai confirmed that they will now be focusing on the mid-size premium segments. The next product to debut this year is expected to be the 2016 Hyundai Elantra, which has been spotted testing for the first time in India, courtesy of IAB reader, Dr. J Arul.

Although it is heavily camouflaged, the taillamps, styling, and headlamps have given away its hidden identity. It will be identical to the model sold in other countries, which measures 4610 mm long, 1800 mm wide, 1450 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2700 mm.
The interior will feature a new 3-spoke steering wheel and center console and revised instrument cluster. The India-spec model could get a 7-or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in top-end grades, while lower grades make do with a LCD display and navigational buttons overseas.

Hope that the Hyundai Elantra will be launched in India soon. This car has the potential to rule the segment as it has good looks, a feature packed cabin, and many more. The only thing is Hyundai has to bring here those turbo petrols and more powerful diesel engines, which are sold internationally. Hyundai has improved in the handling department and if this car handles well, it will become a huge success. A good price tag will help it too.

Booking of the new Elantra has started. Confirmed from the Noida Dealer. The official brochures are expected by 26th August which indicates the launch is possible by end of this month. The booking amount quoted by dealer here is Rs. 50K which is full refundable.

2016 Hyundai Elantra spied undisguised in Chennai

2016 Hyundai Elantra testing in Chennai, ahead of its market launch scheduled for August 23. The next gen Elantra will be locally assembled at Hyundai’s factory in the outskirts of Chennai.
Dealerships have already begun accepting bookings for a minimum deposit of INR 25,000, and deliveries are expected to commence towards the end of this month or early next month. It could be priced between INR 15-18 Lakhs for the petrol variant and INR 16-20 Lakhs for diesel (ex-showroom).

Should be a hit if priced sensibly. On second thought, might be a hit even if priced over the top like Creta.
