Vitara Brezza: Maruti's answer to rival Ford's Ecosport .

Code named YBA, now Maruti has has registered the name -- Vitara Brezaa -- for its upcoming compact SUV .

Brezza translates to breeze in spanish . Vitara Brezza will be available in five variants -- L, V, V+, Z and Z+ .

Suzuki's in-house 1.5 Diesel engine project delayed. Expected to come in 2018.

The Vitrara Brezza will have the 1.3 DDIS on debut.

This means that the company’s new compact SUV (Codename: YBA) which was set to debut the in-house diesel in 2016 will now be launched with the tried and tested 1.3-litre Multijet engine sourced from Fiat, which currently does duty in every diesel Suzuki model sold in India. The 1.5-litre diesel engine will make its way into the YBA model range sometime in the future, probably with the model’s mid-cycle facelift that is expected two or three years after its launch.

Crossover?? Man it looks like a normal hatchback in our roads! definitely no one will accept it as a crossover while XUV and Aria can still smirk!

This is Ecosport rival and will be in the 6 -9 lakh range. It is a different segment than the XUV/Aria that you are referring to.

Oops, sorry mentioned it wrong i guess. It doesn't qualify to be an ecosport/duster rival too. I see this like a fabia and swift both combined.

Why would this be a duster rival ? s cross will be the car to go against the duster. And i agree it doesn't look the sieze of an ecosport.

Here is Maruti's YBA - Compact Crossover testing on India roads again.



The compact SUV will also use Maruti’s existing range of engines, the K12, K14 and tried and tested Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre Multijet engine.

It doesn't seem half as attractive as the ecosport or the Creta in size and the stance. Looks like a Swift on stilts. This car doesn't bring any excitement. It would work only if it looks atleast as good as the new Vitara sold abroad. Moreover the same old engines.

This will be a great addition to the Maruti portfolio. Seeing news that it could come only in diesel. Anyway , if priced well, this should be a blockbuster!

Why don't this thread be moved to the Indian Auto Sector section ? Indian launch is soon and we'll have more traffic here as well.

Maruti Suzuki releases its first tease of its Compact SUV- calls it 'VITARA BREZZA! To be unveiled at the Auto Expo show.

Maruti may also launch the more premium Vitara S, at a later date.
