Tata Aria facelift, codenamed Eagle, to launch in 2016


Like ZEST/BOLT(VISTA) and KITE(indica) and Pelicon(NANO) TATA now starting working on revised version of TATA ARIA code named Eagle

Tata Aria facelift was expected to launch in 2015, but new information has come to light suggesting launch is pushed for next year.

Tata Motors is busy holding magnifying glass on smaller products this year that will potentially churn out large volume sales. The company just launched Bolt hatchback following Zest compact sedan last year, after which there are launches of Kite hatchback & sedan, and Pelican hatchback in the pipeline.

Can’t help but notice, all the current codenames Tata Motors is assigning are names of birds – Falcon for Zest & Bolt, Kite, Pelican and now Eagle for Aria. Someone in the naming commission there must be a part time ornithologist or a bird lover.

Bottomline, since the company badly needs some volume sales as the manufacturing facilities are metaphorically rusting due to under-utilisation, and of course there is the need to make some profit, the slow selling Tata Aria will be out in a new avatar only next year. It is indeed a pity to see the highly capable people mover being ignored in the market, maybe Tata will come up with a much better / compelling proposition with the next iteration of Aria.

just like ARIA this new Eagle will be Crossover

TATA Vista/Manza/ARIA and NANO all these four cars carrys same design language especially on TATA VISTA/ARIA when it comes to body panel shapes so So TATA ZEST bord from TATA MANZA DNA with new skin so we can blindly expect same time design what carried on ZEST I think TATA doing best way to save time and money from their R&D department they know well how to bring succesfull car from a failed car they attempt succesfull with TATA ZEST

I don't think so about sumo because it's body shell is too old sumo did great great job for from past 20years so now it's time to get new generation

ARIA like all other TATA cars will receive updates with total reskinning and a totally refreshed looks. But some concentration should be given to bring down the weight. It should atleast loose a minimum 250+ kilos. But ideally it should be below 2 tonnes mark. But just like the updated 2015 Innova, it should look completely different.

They should also do something to get more space to the third bench to make liberate more leg space and the dashboard too to make it contemporary and eye catching.

The autocar rendering of the kite is to much like the Dacia /Renault Lodgy.
Of course it won't be like this in real.
It's great to see Tata working blazingly fast to refresh all segments.
The aria will surely get all new body panels and design although retaining the shell, just like the bolt/ zest as predicted.

I sure hope new Aria, Sumo, Venture are in the pipeline-TML had the right ideas each time,but seem to loose out somewhere.
I am an absolute TML fan however and not sure rest of the market is as enthusiastic-sales of the Zest,while good are not exactly super hot.

They are. Sumo will be built as monocoque design under the code name Raptor.

TATA SUMO will not built on monocoque chassis TATA Developing ALL NEW light weight platform class "Raptor" its a combination of monocoque and body and frame design to provide ruggedness and lightweight.

Yes I stand corrected here, its not pure monocoque but a combo of monocoque and body on frame. They call it body integrated frame. which is rugged and lightweight.

Aria facelifted is tentatively planned to debut in August 2015.
The Eagle face-lift shall address the oddball looks rather comprehensively, with an all-new front fascia including new headlamps, grille & bumper, and a thoroughly re-designed rear, . Some major changes in interior trim, ICE and design are in the offing too.
