Innova testing continues in India. Coming in 2016.

Next-generation Innova likely to feature refreshed exterior styling, more space in third row and plusher interiors.
Toyota has now finally begun testing the next-generation Innova MPV in India. The next-generation Innova which will be due in 2016 will be again based on Toyota’s Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform. This means, the next-gen Innova will continue to be based on a ladder-frame setup. As seen in the spy photo, the overall silhouette of the vehicle remains similar to the existing model.
The front styling takes cues from Toyota’s latest design language which is also seen on its other global offerings. The rectangular grille – with three big slats on top and three smaller ones at the bottom – is wider and taller and flows all the way to the front bumper. The headlamps on the test mule seem to have projector units as well.
When viewed from the side, the overall profile remains similar but subtle updates can be made out. The alloy wheel design is all new as well. And while the doors seem shaped the same as on the current car, the major design change visible is the re-styled glass area for third-row passengers which gives it a sporty appearence.
The overhangs look a bit longer and this could imply more interior room. Toyota is expected to focus on room in the third-row and also improve on interior quality in the new car.
The next-generation Innova is expected to use the same engines as the current car but they will be tuned for better fuel-efficiency and less noise, and will be compatible with upcoming Bharat Stage VI norms.

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

Indian launch is set to happen only in 2016.

The 2016 Toyota Innova will be based on an all-new body-on-frame chassis which promises more improvements on several important fronts such as a more rigid chassis, better fuel efficiency, lower NVH levels etc. The car will also sport a newer front-fascia with a different grille, newer design headlamps like on the Corolla and different bumpers and the tail will feature newer lights. The 2016 Innova also seems to have grown in some aspects and shrunk in others. The car is definitely longer and wider than the current iteration and the roofline has come down a wee bit, too. The increase in length and width means that the 2016 Toyota Innova will be marginally better in terms of interior space than the current model.

The current 2.5-litre diesel unit will be replaced with a newer one which promises to be more powerful, refined and more frugal. This means the characteristic diesel clatter would be more or less eliminated from creeping into the cabin. Talking of which, the interiors are to uplifted and newer fresher bits added to the now dull and jaded cabin of the Innova. Also, Toyota might offer up an autobox to go along with the current 5-speed manual. Expect a slight bump in price for this new Innova, but knowing the brand and the reputation of the Innova, the new car will be leaving showrooms quicker than Toyota can manufacture them.

The current version is really over priced. The wish list of updated version, the paint quality and sheet metal used must be premium. The current version is having very light sheet metal used. The painting is also a very thin layer.

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

Toyota’s new design language which is found on the new Toyota Camry and the new Toyota Corolla has been carry forwarded here.
The headlamps are redesigned and now it includes a double barrel projection lighting system with built-in LED lights. The radiator grill which is a complete redesigned feature gets horizontal slats which run down till the front bumpers. The front bumpers accommodate the new fog lamp cluster and the indicators.
The majority of the design change is at the rear end, instead of a boring third row window, Toyota has gone in for an angular inclination toward the rear making the car get a slant roofline without compromising on the rear headroom. The results of this are that the rear windshield is noticeably slant like the one’s found on the Range Rover.
Starting with the steering wheel, the 2016 Toyota Innova gets a three spoke steering wheel which is currently found on the Toyota Corolla. The 2016 Toyota Innova gets a similar one with steering mounted controls for audio and call functions. The dashboard gets the outline of a floating structure with a large TFT Display monitor for various functions such as Audio and other functionality. The Air-Con vents looked rectangular and were finished well. Expect a dual tone black interior for that classy look. Probably the top end variant. When observed, the 2016 Toyota Innova might get a keyless entry. The interiors were completely blacked out, but judging it from near the 2016 Toyota Innova gets better ergonomics on the inside and would retain the similar 3 row seating layout.

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

I spotted the Innova again on the same highway again early morning.
Guessing it does daily trips between Mysore & back to the factory at Bidadi.

Other the rear over hang everything else is same on the car.

I am guessing they are testing different bumpers on the car also.

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

The next-generation Toyota Innova has already begun testing in India and South-East Asian countries. Our sources have confirmed report that the next-generation of Toyota Innova will be lighter by about 70 to 80 kilograms. This will make the new MPV a lot lighter, and this will help to improve the performance and even the fuel efficiency of the Toyota Innova, which hasn’t be an advantage for the current-generation of the Toyota Innova.
With the reduction of weight, Toyota will also be downsizing its engine. Currently, the Japanese auto giant is selling the Innova with a 2.5-litre diesel engine that produces 101bhp, this will be downsized with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that will produce 120bhp of power and about 310Nm of peak torque. This engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Toyota Innova will be launched in 2016 . The new Innova will be priced at somewhat Rs 12-16 lakhs (on-road)

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

First pics of the Gen Next Innova.
Next-Generation-Toyota-Innova-leaked.jpg

The next generation Innova is based on the Hilux pick up truck platform which also underpins the next generation Fortuner. Toyota has given a completely new design for the Innova. The front takes inspirations from some hatchbacks in Toyota’s portfolio. The Innova gets chrome finished front grill which extends to the LED’s in the headlamps. The wider front air-dam design along with a new design for the fog lamps gives a sporty look for the Innova which is lacking in the current Innova.

The side also gets a new design and the distinct part is the design of the D-pillar which will reduce the glass area, but on the design area this will help Innova to stand out from the competition. Toyota has given two shoulder line for the Innova as the first one start from the headlamp and extend to the D-pillar, while the second shoulder line starts from the middle and goes around to the rear tail lamps. The mirror get integrated blinkers and can be electrically operated from inside.

Toyota has given completely new design for the interior.

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

Innova is looking good at least in the pictures shown in the brochure. I hope that they will launch the Q variant in india with all the safety features and also a top end automatic going away from the current trend of manufacturers (to not launch automatics in the top end).

Re: Next Generation Toyota Innova Spotted on Test

If Toyota manages to:
1) Make it look a bit masculine
2) Provide brilliant drivability with good highway manners and cruising ability
3) provide decent FE
4) Durability and reliability
5) Price it quite well (I am not expecting it at all though)

Then who will buy Hexa?
