I am eagerly waiting for Mahindra W201 (World SUV). After Aria's launch, this is next prestigious launch from Indian manufacturer.

Mahindra world SUV is certainly one of the most anticipated models, and the Mini-SUV with target pricing of Rs.3 Lakhs sounds unbelievable, something which is again worth watching. But it looks that Mahindra is primarily eyeing to grab hold of utility sector, no plan for sedans or hatchbacks, other than Logan which actually belongs to Renault.

I feel UVs are mahindra's strength & its best they stick to it. Hatchback market is really tough to capture & competition is damn strong, so its better of they leave that alone. they have already done a mistake by going into 2 wheelers.

i am not saying expansion is bad but with products like kinetic scooters & stallio, i doubt.

of course, i am not saying mahindra should not launch a mini-SUV.

I said mahindra should not venture into the "hatchback" (small cars) market.

Maybe this is the petrol scorpio!

A friend of mine works in Mahindra's Igatpuri plant. He confirmed that mahindra is coming up with a new petrol scorpio, most probably not for the domestic market. he says the car touched 190 kmph on Igatpuri national highway!

Also, he test drove the W201 & confirmed that the engine is transversely mounted. he says the interiors are very luxurious & spacious but did not reveal the launch date or pricing.
