@typer- Ofcourse its a diesel. Scorpio never came with a petrol option afaik.

yes, it did. way back in 2002 when it was launched.

it was called the Scorpio Rev 116 & it came with a Renault petrol engine. but it found no buyers & soon it was discontinued.

end 2002, Scorpio was launched in base variant "Std" & middle variant "DX" in diesel. Top end "GLX" was available only in Petrol initially. soon mahindra understood its mistake & launched the GLX in diesel too, in april 2003. thats when we purchased our Scorpio GLX.

I had taken a TD of the petrol too (since we were keen on the top end). it had an amazing power delivery & refinement but the low FE kept us off!

Yes there was a petrol scorpio .
It suffered worst sales , i think it was ended within a year .
Worst part is that scorpios are available for just 1L in present market.

When we were searching a 2nd hand one a dealer showed this. this was some 2 year back. What would be the rate now?

As expected all good FE vehicles are diesel.

Though I don't know how the ARAI calculates its FE, its not consistent. For example - i10 rating is - 19.81 KMPL, but i know for sure (My close friend has one, and Zinam may confirm), it gives approx 12KMPL in city and approx 15 kmpk on highway. Where as Punto's rating is 19.9KPML, and I (and so many other owners) are getting consistently 16-17 in city and 22+ on highways.
