Hindustan Motors Finance Corporation (the new owner of Hindustan Motors's CCP (Chennai Car Plant) today launched the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport at a media conference at the Shangri La at Delhi.
The Pajero Sport has two variants now, the 2WD AT and the 4WD MT.
The new Pajero Sport AT 2WD variant has been launched at 23.55 lac ex-showroom, Delhi while the 4WD MT will now cost 23.8 lac ex-showroom Delhi.
The other highlights of the press conference are as under:
1. HMFCL plans to increase its dealerships in India from the present 31 to 48 by March 2015.
2. HMFCL will launch their next Mitsubishi SUV in March 2015, most probably the Outlander diesel.
3. The Montero "may" be reintroduced on a ship to order CBU basis.
4. HMFCL will continue to focus on niche SUVs and does not have any plans of getting into the mass car market for now.
Here are a couple of news articles on the same.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sports AT Strikes Indian Shores at INR 23.55 lac - The New Indian Express
Dealers across major cities have begun to receive shipments of the new vehicles and bookings were opened on the 5th of November.
Deliveries are likely to begin soon.
The key feature changes are the paddle shifters, a day-night IRVM, turn indicators on the ORVMs, a revised MID, better mounted 2DIN head unit, new fender indicator covers, clear lens tail lamps, a new grille and a bumper with new fog lamp mounts.
My take:
The pricing is certainly competitive.
Paddle shifters are certainly a HUGE ego booster and a nice feature to have.
The vehicle feels better finished and classy when compared to the Fortuner.
While the Santa Fe is better finished, it doesn't feel as robust as the Sport.
Matte black lower halves of the front and rear bumpers have made a welcome return.
The clutch and the gear lever felt significantly lighter on the manual variant.
The new air dam with bigger openings is not to my taste and will let 1" pebbles hit the intercooler and the condensor grille.
Turn indicators on the OVRMs are very sleek.
The 105kg lighter AT will definitely be more fuel efficient compared to the manual.
The vehicle now deserves a more targeted marketing push, coupled with a greater sales and service reach.
