M&M to launch Vibe hatchback priced at Rs 6 lakh next month

Pravin Shah, chief executive, automotive, at M&M, said

"The entry into the compact car segment gives us an opportunity to learn more about the Indian car market and expand the customer base."

The Verito Vibe will sport the same 1.5-litre Renault diesel engine that powers Verito and will be less than four metres in length to attract lower excise duty of 12%.

This looks to be a interesting battle in the Premium Hatch segment where only Maruti was enjoying earlier, but those days have gone now and they will have a tough time when Mahindra entering into the same.

Think Mahindra would sell the older version of Verito alongside with the hatchback (Swift and Dzire way)

Why not use the Quanto's engine?

I think Quanto's engine won't fit into the bay of the verito, i maybe wrong here, experts?

I think the size of the engine bay is the same.

P.S.: The alloys on the camouflaged car which Visran posted looks cool.

This is a very ugly car. I would any day prefer Vista over this car.. And if this car as Deville says would kill Indica then I would start believing that Indian Junta are completely partial and against tata. No matter what they do people will simply wont buy their cars.

I think we need to wait till Mahindra announces something officially !! it is not a bad effort as a hatch is missing from their lineup and I am sure that they will launch a impressive one too

This car is spotted now never seen earlier. The launch date will be year end. Looks descent though.
