Hi All,

I have started a DIY & I need all your valuable inputs here.
This is the Central Locking kit i bought from Ebay costing around Rs.699/- (after discount). I need advice on where exactly to fit the actuators. I dont want to drill too many holes (anywhere) in the car & since my car has already seen 3Owners before me, I find screw positions already existing in the doors (interiors). Pics will say the rest.

Thanks in advance.

This is how all the parts are fit. (the black thing has a motor inside which does the push & pull job, its called actuator)

Existing screw holes in the door (may be previous owner had Central locking)

I tried mounting the actuator with that guide rail thing on these two holes & this is how it fits.

This is how it works,

This is a pic of my rear right door, where do I fit the actuator here?

I want to fix these asap. :help:

Thanks in advance

Hi SS80..

The position of the actuator / motor is incorrect, it should be straight, you can use those metal strips provided to mount it properly.

For the rear doors directly fit them to the know connecting rod.

I would suggest you to drill new holes so that would perfectly fit in place.

Hello ss80
As per the pictures suggest you have installed the actuators vertically rather it should have been horizontal. will post the pictures in my car when i reach the home.[:)]

I searched in the internet & found that it can be mounted either ways depending on the space available. So I went ahead with the Vertical installation on two doors. Ran short of screws (the Ebay kit supplies less screws than you actually need) so had to stop today.

Here are pictures of the work so far.

Here are some pic's for you. I did an DIY in my friends car (800).
Thanks guys, got the right idea now & installed the Central locking today. The trick is in getting the wires inside the chassy & using the exact holes to route the wires. Here are few pictures of revised Actuator mounting.

Most of the wires are inside the chassy (neatly tucked in)

Maximum Wires are inside the driver door (later I tied them to the inside wall using a plastic knot.

Hi SS80,

This unit is a real economic one. just for Rs 699. As suggested by Varun, I checked
Autocop, but they quoted around 3K.
BTW How is it working.
What type of model is compatible for M800.
I need a basic model for my M800, do you think its still available?

Regards,
Sri
