Re: Need To Buy A Car--Help Me Guys

Oh in that budget you would get old cars like 90's model 800,Regarding the fuel, buddy you only get good cars of petrol and diesel, well its almost good for nothing you get, because you will spend more money on its maintenance than buying that car.(No offence :D)

Try Omni too! but be aware that these cars need a lot of maintenance to run

In that budget think of a Maruti 800, easy to buy, easy to maintain.
IMHO if you buy a diesel, you will end up spending thrice on the maintenance of what you initially got it for!

Welcome to The Automotive India, Murugan. Your budget is very limited. I would suggest searching for a used ’98 onwards Maruti 800, Zen or Hyundai Santro. But considering their age, be prepared for a certain amount of refurbishment job and reliability may also be questionable. There plenty of these models in all conditions, so make sure to thoroughly search in the market for a better deal. Refer to this thread to learn how to inspect a used car: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...pecting-second-hand-car-exhaustive-guide.html

You can go for Maruti 800 blindly, yo can get 1998-99-2000 Mfd Maruti 800 in good condition for 55 to 60K. Ask me! I have sold my 800, 99' for Rs 55 K, it was in excellent condition, and the guy who bought it has not spent a single penny in six months. Also he is getting mileage of 18-19 kmpl!
Search for a good condition 800 , use social network for the same! Do not go for diesel, or the discontinued models.

dude spend 50 grands more and get yourself new nano!!
+1 to that.

Nano is much more fuel eficient and will come up with additional warranty and free service plus loads of space. One can apply for Car loans if budget constraints.

Very good suggestion from dodge_v1per and jayadev.

Nano is the right option here if you see the maintenance cost of old vehicles even if it is an M800.

Good mileage and added benefit of ample space inside the cabin.

I think you can safely go for an 800. my friend bought an 800 for 48k (96 or 98) the car is good VFM. he also has a ANHC but he wanted a small car for miscellaneous errands. the car gave him an avg of 17 -18 kmpl. 3 persons in the rear will be little tight, particularly if you are big. if not the car is good.
I had a 2001 5speed 800
pros
+ steering is good, never thought that a power steering might be great .
+ boot space is more than that of nano (no offense since he was given nano as a choice)
+ more power and engine displacement than nano
+ tried and tested on Indian Roads.
+ Spare parts cheap
+ wherever you go you can easily find someone to service your car
+ good FE
+ the old 800's have little more stong body

cons
- head space
- leg space

it's for you to decide.
